Signs for AsianHub appeared on the former Holland and Barrett store in Westgate Street near the Cornhill which indicated that the new shop is opening soon.
It is not yet certain which type of Asian cuisine will be sold from the store when it opens its doors for the first time.
Currently no application to sell alcohol has been made to Ipswich Borough Council.
Holland and Barrett moved out of the space in September 2024, when the two stores in the town were combined into a bigger unit, and the space has remained empty ever since.
The new shop opening comes amid a large amount of change on Westgate Street, with Claires accessories next door shutting for good, whilst TGJones is set to close for the final time next month.
Elsewhere in the road, Barclays have applied for a permission to open a new store whilst La Alex Grill recently started trading.
