The Red Lion in Woodbridge said it had to close for the day for essential water-pipe repairs.
The closure followed a series of “unexpected water leaks” that forced the pub to shut several times at short notice.
The pub apologised for the disruption and thanked customers for their patience and continued support.
It said the repairs would allow it to reopen without further disruption.
The pub said: “We look forward to seeing you again from tomorrow (Tuesday, August 15).”
The pub previously had to carry out renovations after pests damaged its plaster.
The work uncovered hidden beams believed to be around 400 years old, a secret room and the foundations of original windows.
The pub had hoped to leave the original beams exposed, but covered them to protect the structure and prevent further damage.
Woodbridge was named one of seven standout locations in the East of England in the Sunday Times Best Places to Live 2026 guide.
